Scree Alerts (beta)

Scree Alerts — Refund Policy (Beta)

Scree Alerts is operated by Cody Gray (operating as Scree Alerts), reachable at hello@screealerts.com and 434 Cougar St, Banff, AB T1L 1B1. This policy is part of the Terms of Service.

Scree is an alert service. You are paying us to watch availability and tell you when an opening appears — not to book, hold, or guarantee a campsite. That distinction is what the refund line below is built on.

Manual beta refund-first promise

For the manual beta, we would rather refund quickly than keep a small payment from someone who is confused, unhappy, or not getting useful service. If something feels off, email hello@screealerts.com before opening a card dispute and we will either fix it or refund you.

You get a full refund if

  • We cannot monitor your approved seasonal route/campsite scope after you have paid.
  • The watch fails because of our setup error or avoidable downtime on our side.
  • Your route becomes unsupported before useful service starts.
  • You were charged by mistake — a duplicate charge, an accidental purchase, or a watch that was never activated.
  • You tell us before useful service starts that you misunderstood what Scree does and no longer want the watch.

If any of these apply, email hello@screealerts.com and we will refund you.

You are not entitled to a refund just because

  • Another camper booked the opening first after we sent you a valid alert. Speed between campers is outside our control — an alert is a heads-up, not a hold.
  • No opening appeared during your watch. We are paid to watch, and openings are not guaranteed.
  • You missed or ignored an alert that we delivered correctly.
  • You booked something else, changed your trip, or changed your mind after the watch was activated and working.

How refunds are paid

  • Card refunds go back through Stripe to your original payment method and usually take 5–10 business days to appear, depending on your bank.
  • Stripe's processing fees on the original charge may not be returned to us, but this does not reduce your refund — you receive the full amount you paid.
  • The lean manual beta uses Stripe Payment Links by default so refunds stay tied to the original charge.

How to ask

Email hello@screealerts.com with the email address you used and the route/campsite scope you were watching. We aim to respond within a couple of business days. Nothing in this policy removes rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law that cannot be waived.
